Matt Kunz
Matt Kunz grew up in the southwestern United States, where his family settled in Las Vegas, NV. He attended Catholic schools in middle and high school where he excelled in writing and athletics.
Matt attended the University of Notre Dame where he played football as a walk-on for National Championship-winning coach Lou Holtz. After school, he worked in the private sector within private equity, Fortune 500, and small business.
Having moved to Georgia in 1999, he met his wife, RaDonna, a year later. They were married in 2002 at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta, GA.
He coached football and had his own business where he coached players from age six to twenty-six. He transitioned into financial services where he became a Series 7 and Series 66 licensed financial advisor.
He ran for City Council, putting together a team that pulled off an upset victory, and he served the City of Milton for eight years from 2012 to 2019. He was unopposed in his second term. With a third term approaching, he announced he would not seek reelection even though he would likely have been unopposed. He served as president of the Friends of the Milton Library from 2012-2015, overseeing the organization that led to the funding and creation of the Book Barn.
He retired from politics in 2020, focusing on his businesses and his creativity. He is an eight-time self-published author and a professional artist dealing with watercolor paintings and inspirational films. He is currently a consultant and freelancer helping both individuals and businesses with their strategic and media projects. He is a member of the Cumming Art Center and has served in several ministries at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Cumming, GA. Matt also has an organization where he is promoting his father, NFL great George Kunz, to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Together, he and RaDonna have several dogs in Milton, GA where they contribute to the Colonel Potter Cairn Terrier Group, feed the wild birds from multiple bird feeders, and participate in ministries at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church.
